Police are responding to fatal crash – Belmont

Major Crash officers are investigating a crash at the intersection of Frederick Street and Hardy Road, Belmont on Sunday 27 September 2020.

Around 7.35pm a Toyota Camry sedan was travelling east on Frederick Street. The driver of the Camry stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded to turn right onto Hardy Road, into the path of a 250cc Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle travelling north on Hardy Road.

Braking heavily, the motorcycle has lost contact with the road and slid into the side of the Camry.

Passers–by and police at the scene commenced CPR on the rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man, before he was conveyed to hospital. He later died of his injuries.
