A person has died in a single vehicle crash at Canowindra, in the state’s Central West.
Just before midnight (Sunday 24 November 2019), a vehicle was travelling south on Canowindra Road, when it left the road, striking a cement culvert and then a tree, before catching alight.
Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
The driver, who remains unidentified, died at the scene.
Officers from Chifley Police District are investigating the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
