Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal crash in Coolaroo.
It is believed the vehicle has left Pascoe Vale Road just before 9.30pm and struck a pole on the median strip.
The yet to be identified male driver died at the scene, the male passenger has been taken to hospital with life- threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be established and the investigation is ongoing.
