Police arrest driver after avoiding RBT at Millswood, South Australia

A driver was arrested after he drove off from a driver testing station on Goodwood Road last night.

Police had set up the driver testing station on Goodwood Road, Millswood when they waved in a blue ute about 1.15am on Sunday 14 July.

The ute driver allegedly ignored the direction, nearly hitting the officer who had to jump out the way and continued southbound on Goodwood Road. Luckily, the officer was not injured.

The vehicle was quickly spotted again by police stationary at a service station on Belair Road, Kingswood and the driver arrested.

The 36-year-old Dulwich man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.207.

He was charged with drink driving offences, disobey direction and drive in a manner dangerous to the public. He was issued with an instant loss of licence for 12 months and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 23 August.
