Police arrest man after Air Wing follows erratic vehicle across northern suburbs

Police have arrested a man after the Air Wing followed a vehicle being driven erratically throughout Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

Police initially received reports of a vehicle speeding on the Greensborough Highway at Watsonia about 4am, Tuesday 19 July.

The vehicle was observed being driven erratically, at excessive speed and through red lights as the Air Wing followed it through Fawkner and Coburg before it travelled down High Street towards Punt Road.

Police successfully deployed stop sticks at Yarra Boulevard but the vehicle continued on until it stopped at Abbot Grove in Collingwood.

A 30-year-old Reservoir man was arrested at the scene and is assisting investigators with their enquiries.
