Police arrest man after Paralowie pursuit

A man was arrested after attempting to evade police in the northern suburbs this morning.

Northern District Police attended a Burton address about 9.20am today, Friday 8 September, to conduct inquiries.

A man ran from police and was located again a short time later driving a white Toyota sedan. Police attempted to stop the vehicle and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle crashed into the median strip at the intersection of Martins Road and Waterloo Corner Road, Paralowie.

The driver ran from the car and it will be alleged he unsuccessfully tried to rob two members of the public of their vehicles before being apprehended by police.

There were no injuries reported.

Back at the Burton address, officers located a stolen Mazda BT50 ute, two stolen motorcycles and a shotgun.

Further investigations are continuing.

The 29-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with engage in police pursuit, two counts of aggravated robbery and other outstanding matters, including two counts of theft and receiving.

He was refused police bail and is likely to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 11 September.
