Police have arrested a man following a series of incidents across the Werribee area today.
It’s alleged an offender entered a garage on Wyndham Street in Werribee just before 11am where a man was sitting in his running vehicle.
The offender pulled him from the driver’s seat and stole the car which was later found abandoned on Vincent Street.
Around 12.30pm the offender approached a woman who was placing her baby in the car on Shaws Road and attempted to steal her car but was unsuccessful and ran off on foot.
The offender then attempted to carjack a man sitting in his car on Shaws Road about midday, but the owner refused to get out, so the offender fled on foot into a nearby reserve.
No one involved was physically injured.
The 33-year-old Tarneit man was located inside a property he is alleged to have broken into on Market Road around 4pm and taken into custody where he is currently being interviewed.
