Police have arrested a 37-year-old Bellfield man following an incident in Werribee this evening.
It is understood the man, wearing only underwear, approached a 45-year-old Hoppers Crossing woman in the car park of a Princes Highway hospital about 5pm.
He pulled the woman from her vehicle and started to drive off before the victim jumped into the backseat and attempted to stop him.
The man drove off and crashed into multiple cars parked in the hospital car park while the woman, still in the back seat, contacted police.
The vehicle crashed into an embankment on Sneydes Road about 5.20pm and the woman left the vehicle and attempted to restrain him.
Police arrived and arrested the man shortly afterwards.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
A police officer sustained a minor injury during the arrest and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
The investigation remains ongoing and police wish to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.
