Local police and the Dog Squad arrested a man after he broke into a car dealership in Prahran this morning.
Police were called to the dealership, at the intersection of Williams Road and Clarke Street, following reports an alarm had been activated just after 3am.
Officers were quickly on the scene and cordoned off the area after a man was seen running through the dealership showroom.
A dog squad unit was able track down the offender who was found hiding in a ventilation area of the building.
The 32-year-old Prahran man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
