Police arrest man over armed robbery, Kangaroo Point

Police have arrested a man following an armed robbery incident during which a knife was allegedly used to threaten a store attendant at a Kangaroo Point liquor store earlier this morning.

It is alleged around 10.30am, a man entered the Mains Road business and selected a cask of wine and cigarettes at the counter which were bagged by the store attendant. The man then allegedly produced a knife, threatened the store employee and left the business without paying for the items.

Police attended the scene and a man was taken into custody nearby shortly after the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
