Police arrest pair with drugs in Dandenong

Police from the Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit (FTU) arrested two people and seized drugs in Dandenong last night.

Officers were patrolling on Stud Road, Dandenong about 12.30am when they attempted to intercept a vehicle.

The driver allegedly fled from police and was observed driving erratically on James Street, Dandenong a short time later.

Officers from the FTU, Operations Response Unit and Dog Squad followed the driver to a house on Ann Street, Dandenong.

Officers searched the house and arrested a man and a woman.

They also seized 100 grams of methylamphetamine.

The 27-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were taken to Dandenong Police Station where they were interviewed.

The pair have been charged with traffick a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, traffick methylamphetamine, possess methylamphetamine, dangerous driving whilst being pursued, suspended driving, three counts of deal property suspected of being proceeds of crime and traffic-related offences.

Both were remanded in custody and presented at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court today.

These arrests are part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).

Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
