A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after allegedly attacking a police officer this afternoon at a shopping mall in Hornsby.
Uniformed officers, from the Kuring-Gai Police Area Command, were patrolling the mall in Florence Street around 4.30pm today (Tuesday 11 June 2019) when they attempted to move on a group of young people.
It’s alleged that without provocation, the teenager has punched the female senior constable in the face and kicked her in the leg.
Uniformed and plain clothes officers arrested the teen during a struggle and have taken her to the Hornsby Police Station where she’s assisting with inquiries.
The 40-year-old senior constable has been treated for soreness to her face and arm, which was injured during the arrest.
A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were also arrested for unrelated street offences.
