Police Arrest Teens After Stolen BMW Tracked From Unley

Three teenagers have been arrested after a car was stolen from Unley overnight.

Police were called to Frederick Street, Unley just before 5am on Saturday 20 June, following reports that a home had been broken into and a BMW sedan stolen from the driveway.

The vehicle was fitted with GPS tracking, which showed it travelling towards the northern suburbs.

At about 5.15am, the stolen BMW attended a service station at Blair Athol, where the driver allegedly failed to pay for fuel.

Patrols continued to track the vehicle as it later stopped at a block of units on Hamblynn Road, Elizabeth Downs. Following a search of the area, three suspects were arrested at about 5.30am. Items stolen during the break-in were also located dumped nearby.

A 14-year-old boy from Elizabeth Park, a 17-year-old boy from Craigmore, and an 18-year-old man from Craigmore have been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, illegal use of a motor vehicle, and making off without payment. A decision on bail has not yet been made.

The stolen vehicle was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
