Police arrest teens in stolen car at Richmond, South Australia

Four teenage girls were arrested in a stolen car at Richmond overnight.

Police were called to a bottle shop on Liberator Drive, Paralowie just before 9pm on Monday 21 March by reports of the theft of alcohol. The young suspects had left in a silver Toyota Camry sedan.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from a Craigmore address earlier in the afternoon.

PolAir was quickly overhead and spotted the car travelling south on the North South Motorway. The car continued all the way south, past the Brickworks, before patrols intercepted it at the intersection of South Road and Richmond Road, Richmond.

Four teenage girls were arrested at the scene. The alleged driver, a 13-year-old girl from Craigmore, was charged with illegal use and drive unlicensed.

A 15-year-old girl from Andrews Farm, a 14-year-old girl from Evanston and an 18-year-old woman from Elizabeth Downs were all charged with aggravated theft. They will all appear in the Elizabeth Youth and Magistrates Court today.

The stolen car was towed from the scene.
