Police arrest three teens after collision in stolen car

Three teenagers have been arrested by police after they dumped a stolen car following a collision in Eumemmerring this morning.

Dandenong divisional van officers came across the two-car collision and the dumped car on the South Gippsland Freeway overpass shortly after 2am.

Enquiries revealed the allegedly stolen car appeared to have run a red light at speed just prior to the collision.

The driver and two passengers from the stolen car ran from the vehicle before police cordoned off and searched the area.

Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit officers were searching the area when they noticed a ride-share vehicle pull up outside a construction site before driving off.

The vehicle was intercepted and the three teenage passengers, believed involved in the collision, were arrested.

The 47-year-old Pakenham man who was driving the other vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two 15-year-old boys, from Point Cook and Noble Park, remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

A 13-year-old boy has been released from custody and received a caution in relation to the incident.

It’s believed the car was stolen from a Narre Warren carpark last night.
