Police arrest trio after Mulgrave incident

Three people have been arrested following an incident in Mulgrave this morning (25 July).

Police responded to reports of a man behaving suspiciously about 5.15am in Tennyson Street, Essendon.

It is understood the man along with two other people, got into two vehicles believed to be stolen and drove away as police arrived.

Police followed and observed one of the vehicles driving erratically through a number of suburbs.

It is believed the two cars came to a stop after one vehicle rammed an unmarked police car near the intersection of Wellington Road and Springvale Road about 6.15am.

The three resisted arrest and police deployed capsicum spray to subdue them.

A 19-year-old Fairfield woman, an 18-year-old Bentleigh man and a 16-year-old Baxter teen were arrested and are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

No one was injured during the incident.
