Police arrest two after aggravated burglary in Black Rock

Victoria Police’s Air Wing and Dog Squad have assisted with the arrest of two males following an aggravated burglary in Black Rock this morning.

It is alleged the 16-year-old and 18-year-old attended an address in Seaview Crescent around 1am and entered the property through a rear door.

The pair allegedly stole a handbag, a phone, cash, and a set of keys, along with a 2013 Mercedes-Benz B-Class sedan.

The Air Wing assisted officers on the ground in following the Mercedes-Benz through a number of suburbs, before the vehicle came to a stop in Ashburton, and the two males ran from the scene.

Police dog Zeus and his handler supported by cornering the males to a block of an apartments, where they were arrested around 2am.

The 18-year-old from Shepparton is assisting police with their enquiries.

The second male, a 16-year-old from Carrum Downs, was bitten on the leg by the police dog during his arrest and was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims’ vehicle and all their allegedly stolen property has been recovered.
