Police arrest two after attempted robbery in Deer Park

Brimbank Divisional Response Unit Embona detectives have charged two people following an attempted robbery of a man in Deer Park on 13 September.

The victim was sitting in his wheelchair outside a chemist on Ballarat Road just before 6.30pm when he was approached by an unknown man and woman.

It is alleged the man and woman demanded money before throwing the 46-year-old man out of his wheelchair, unsuccessfully attempting to steal money and a mobile phone.

A 45-year-old Altona Meadows man has been charged with multiple offences including recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and attempted robbery.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 20 October.

A 35-year-old Ardeer woman has been charged with multiple offences including recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and attempted robbery.

She has been remanded to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 25 September.
