Police arrest two after Melbourne CBD stabbing

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men after an alleged stabbing in Melbourne’s CBD on 13 August.

Allegedly, an altercation occurred between two groups of men in a licensed venue at the corner of Lonsdale and King streets about 6am.

A 23-year-old man from Dingley Village and 20-year-old man from Lysterfield were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 20-year-old man from Dingley Village also self-presented at hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday 16 August, a 21-year-old man from Cobblebank was arrested by detectives in Melton.

The man been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and possess a prohibited weapon.

He has been remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 30 August.

On Friday 18 August, an 18-year-old Sydenham man was arrested in Sydenham.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
