Police arrest two after teenage girl falls from car

Two men have been arrested after a teenage girl fell from the roof of a car and received critical injuries in Altona North last night.

A 21-year-old Braybrook man was arrested in Altona this afternoon.

Detectives from the Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit subsequently seized a mini-Cooper sedan.

A second man, aged 21 from Caroline Springs, presented to a police station shortly after.

Both are currently assisting police with enquiries.

The arrests follow an incident in the vicinity of The Esplanade and Davies Street, where it’s believed four women fell from the roof of a moving car about 11.30pm.

A 17-year-old Melton South woman is believed to have struck her head when she fell and remains in hospital with critical injuries.

Another teenager, aged 17 from Wyndham Vale, later presented at hospital with injuries from the incident and is also receiving treatment.

Two other young women, believed to be sitting on the roof at the time, were not injured and have spoken to police.
