Police arrest two men over assault, robbery in carpark in Milperra

Two men have been arrested over an alleged assault and robbery in a carpark in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

About 8.30pm (Thursday 23 April 2020), a 43-year-old man pulled into a carpark in Auld Avenue, Milperra, with a 38-year-old woman.

About 9pm, two other vehicles pulled into the carpark before three men exited and allegedly threatened the man and woman.

Police will allege the three men grabbed the 43-year-old man before repeatedly assaulting him and holding a sharp object against his throat as they threatened him.

The woman was allegedly threatened but was not physically injured. The three men stole her phone before they drove away from the scene.

The 43-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, suffering injuries to his head, face, neck, ribs, shoulders and legs.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, investigators attended a home in Excelsior Street, Guildford, where they arrested a 44-year-old man about 1am today (Friday 24 April 2020).

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with robbery in company.

The man was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday 24 April 2020).

About 9.45am today, a second man, aged 25, was arrested at a home in Bankstown and was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was currently assisting with inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
