Police arrest woman after damaging 40 parked vehicles in Wentworthville

A woman has been arrested after damaging multiple vehicles in Sydney’s west today.

About 6am (Wednesday 20 May 2020), police were called to Garfield and Lane streets, Wentworthville, following reports a woman, armed with a hockey stick, smashed a number of parked vehicles.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation, gathering CCTV from the area.

About 9.45am, police received further information that the woman had returned and was smashing parked vehicles with a piece of wood.

The 40-year-old woman from Wentworthville was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.

Police estimate more than 40 vehicles were damaged, causing in excess of $20,000 damage.

The woman was charged with 40 counts of malicious damage, affray, goods in custody and breach of bail. She was refused bail and will appear before Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 21 May 2020).

Inquiries into the matter are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
