Police charge driver after testing over five times legal limit in Marrickville

A woman will face court next month charged with high-range drink driving in Sydney’s inner-west.

About 4pm on Friday 21 February 2020, a black Nissan Micra hit a gutter on Murray Street in Marrickville, damaging a wheel and tyre, before coming to rest.

Members of the public assisted the female driver from the car before reporting the incident to police.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and subjected the woman to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.

She was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where a second breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.270.

The 49-year-old had her licence suspended and was charged with high-range PCA. She was issued with a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Newtown Local Court on Monday 16 March 2020.
