Police charge four teens after Point Cook aggravated burglary

Detectives from Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit have charged four teenagers following an incident in Melton this morning.

Police will allege the group were in a stolen blue 2020 Mercedes SUV, when they were observed by police on Barries Road, Melton about 7.50am.

The four teenage boys evaded police before police successfully deployed vehicle immobilisation devices and the vehicle came to a stop on High Street.

One of the males was arrested at the vehicle and the airwing assisted police on the ground to quickly locate the other three.

It is understood the vehicle was stolen from a residence on Brindabella Chase, Point Cook between 3.30am and 4.30am.

The three boys, a 14-year-old from Harkness, a 16-year-old from Brookfield and a 16-year-old from Melton West have each been charged with multiple offences in relation to the incident and will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

An 18-year-old man from Brookfield was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

Two other vehicles, a white 2015 Mercedes sedan and a white 2012 Toyota sedan, were also stolen from the Point Cook home but have not been located and the investigation remains ongoing.
