Police charge man after armed robbery at Parramatta

A man has been charged after an armed robbery in Sydney’s west last week.

About 1pm on Saturday 11 November 2023, officers from Parramatta Police Area Command were called to a liquor store at a shopping Centre on Church Street, Parramatta, following reports of a robbery.

Police were told a man entered the store and took a bottle of alcohol before allegedly threatening a 24-year-old employee with a firearm.

The man left the store and was last seen walking towards the carpark on level six.

The employee was not injured.

Following inquiries, about 10am yesterday (Friday 17 November 2023), officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command sighted the man at the Chinatown light rail stop on George Street, Sydney.

The man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 18 November 2023).
