A man has been charged following an assault during a protest in Sydney’s CBD on Sunday.
About 3pm Sunday 5 May 2024, police were alerted to an alleged assault on George Street, Sydney.
Police have been told a 26-year-old woman participating in a protest was allegedly assaulted by a 45-year-old man.
The man and woman are not known to each other.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command arrested the man.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with common assault.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 30 May 2024.
