Police charge man after bomb hoax in Ballarat

Ballarat Criminal Investigation Unit detectives arrested a man after making a bomb threat to an education facility in Ballarat last week.

The man was arrested at an address in Maryborough on Tuesday, 23 November.

It’s alleged the man told staff he was armed with explosives at the education facility on Grant Street on 18 November about 12.20pm.

A 35-year-old Maryborough man has been charged with making a bomb hoax, threatening to damage property and threats to kill.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court later today.
