Police Charge Man After Doveton Death

Detectives from the Homicide Squad have this afternoon charged a man following the fatal shooting a man in Doveton last week.

A 36-year-old Dandenong man was arrested this morning by uniform members from Moorabbin for unrelated matters.

He has since been interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad and charged with murder.

The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

The charge follows an incident where emergency services were called to a property on Banksia Street, following reports a man had been located unresponsive on 1 October about 11.30am.

A woman inside the residence performed first aid on the 27-year-old Doveton man, however he died at the scene.

Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
