Police charge man after incident in Collie

Bunbury Detectives have charged a 33-year-old man after an incident in Collie on Thursday 15 October 2020 in which two women were injured.

It is alleged just after 11pm, the man was driving a Toyota Hilux utility when he reversed into patrons who were outside a licenced premise on Throssell Street, hitting two women. The vehicle then struck the wall of the hotel causing extensive damage.

A 23-year-old woman received critical injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital and an 18-year-old woman received serious injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Collie Hospital.

The 33-year-old man from Collie has been charged with:-

• Two counts of Unlawful Act or Omission with Intent to Harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person);

• One count of Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance Received After Incident Occasioning Bodily Harm; and

• One count of Driver Fail to Report an Incident in which property was Damaged.

He is due to appear before the Bunbury Magistrates Court today, 17 October 2020.
