Police have charged a man after an alleged stabbing in South Melbourne late last night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a man found with injuries consistent with a stabbing on Clarendon Street about 10pm.
The victim, a 41-year-old South Melbourne man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
Officers quickly arrived on scene before attending a nearby address and arresting a South Melbourne man.
The 22-year-old has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, breaching bail, possessing cannabis, possessing a controlled weapon and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
It appears the men are known to each other.
