Police have charged a 38-year-old man following an incident in Wendouree on Sunday afternoon.
It’s alleged a woman was sitting in her vehicle on Howitt Street when she was approached by an unknown man about 12pm.
The man pulled the victim out of the vehicle and tried to start the car.
A member of the public intervened and pulled the offending male out of the vehicle.
The 68-year-old victim sustained minor injuries.
The man was charged with carjacking, robbery, theft, assault and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
He has been remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court this morning.
