A man will appear in court today charged with murder after the body of a woman was found in an Inner West home at the weekend.
About 9.50pm on Saturday (25 November 2023), police were called to a unit on Bechert Road, Chiswick, following reports of a domestic incident.
Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command arrived to find the body of a woman.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, has not been formally identified. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dargal.
A 40-year-old man – known to the woman – was arrested at the scene and taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with murder (DV).
He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Monday 27 November 2023).
