Police charge man over puppy theft in Sedgwick

Police have charged a man following an aggravated burglary and the theft of four puppies from an address in Sedgwick in June.

The incident occurred when two men attended an address on Springs Road and allegedly stole four puppies from inside the residence on 20 June.

When confronted by the 82-year-old owner, one of the men allegedly pushed her to the ground, resulting in her being conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.

The puppies, a Bordoodle, a Cavoodle, a British Bulldog and a Maltese/Shitzu cross, have not been located.

The 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and assault.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 24 August.
