Police charge man over shooting in Tregear

A man has been charged over a shooting in Western Sydney last week.

About 11.40pm on Thursday 18 July 2019, emergency services were called to a house on Kista Dan Avenue, Tregear, following reports a man had been shot.

Police have been told the resident, a 31-year-old man, answered a knock at the front door, and two unknown men entered the house.

The three men became involved in a verbal argument, before the resident was shot once in the arm.

Following enquiries by Mt Druitt detectives, about 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 July 2019), they attended a home in Tregear and arrested a 23-year-old man.

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with shoot with intent to murder, aggravated robbery with wounding, and specially aggravated break and enter – commit serious indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Thursday 25 July 2019).
