Police charge man over stabbing – Revesby

A man has been charged after another man was allegedly stabbed outside a club in Revesby this morning.

Emergency services were called to a club on MacArthur Avenue shortly before 4am today (Wednesday 19 April 2023) and found a man suffering stab wounds to his chest and side.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were told a patron had been excluded from the club, before returning and allegedly threatening a security guard with a knife.

Another guard went to his aid, before he was allegedly stabbed. The armed man was wrestled to the ground and held until police arrived.

The injured man – aged 28 – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

A 73-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

Following inquiries, the man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, attempt wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, excluded person fail to leave premises when required and common assault.

He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 20 April 2023).
