Police charge man with sexually assaulting a teenager

Bunbury Detectives have charged a 51-year-old man as a result of their investigation into reported sexual offences against a female teenager.

It is alleged the man made contact with the 14-year-old victim online via an instant messaging app and after a period of time arranged to meet her in person.

It is further alleged the man met the girl earlier this month and blindfolded her before driving her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her. He then blindfolded her again and drove her back to where he collected her.

The 51-year-old man from Millbridge has been charged with:-

• Two counts of Sexual Penetration of a Child over 13 years and under 16 years;

• One count of Intent to Expose a Person under 16 years to Indecent Material; and

• One count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material.

He is next due to appear before the Bunbury Magistrates Court on 26 October 2020.
