Police charge man with trafficking as police seize more than $105k of drugs

Detectives from the Prahran Divisional Response Unit (DRU) have charged a St Kilda man with commercial drug trafficking and seized more than $105,000 worth of drugs, including methylamphetamine, following warrants earlier this week.

On Wednesday 2 November, Prahran and Fawkner DRU detectives executed simultaneous search warrants in St Kilda and Sunbury, leading to the arrest of a 47-year-old St Kilda man and seizure of:

• Approximately 262 grams of methylamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $78,600.

• Approximately 82 grams of ecstasy pills, with an estimated street value of $20,800.

• Approximately two litres of 1,4 butanediol, with an estimated street value of approximately $6,000.

• Approximately one gram of MDMA.

• $7,865 cash.

• 11 vials of testosterone.

• Three bags of magic mushrooms.

• Large quantity of prescription medication.

• A large quantity of allegedly stolen identification cards in various names.

The St Kilda man was present at the time of the warrant and has been charged with traffick commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and 1,4 butanediol, traffick ecstasy, possess hallucinogen, possess drug of dependence, deal with the proceeds of crime, handle stolen goods, deal with property suspected proceeds of crime and fail to provide passwords to storage devices.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 25 January 2023.
