Police charge teen after Manor Lakes affray and stabbing

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager after an alleged affray and stabbing in Manor Lakes last night.

It’s believed a group of about ten males were involved in an alleged brawl at a shopping complex on Ballan Road when one male sustained suspected stab wounds to the upper body on Thursday, 13 January about 6.30pm.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The alleged offender then left the scene and was confronted by a group of males when he allegedly received suspected stab wounds to his lower body and was assaulted with a frying pan.

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later a 16-year-old boy was arrested nearby in Buloke Avenue.

He has been charged with various offences including affray, violent disorder, possess controlled weapon and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has been bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
