Police charge teen after Melbourne pursuit and collision in Oakleigh

A boy has been charged with multiple driving offences after allegedly failing to stop for police while driving at speed across Melbourne on Sunday, 27 March.

Police attempted to intercept the alleged stolen vehicle in the Melbourne CBD.

The car allegedly sped through multiple suburbs before being involved in a collision with another vehicle in Oakleigh, before the driver allegedly fled on foot.

A 17-year-old Seaford boy has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, aggravated reckless exposure of police officer to risk by dangerous driving, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, handling stolen goods, committing an indictable offence whilst on bail and unlicenced driving.

The teenager was remanded in custody to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
