Police Charge Three Over Vehicle Theft At Parkes

On Thursday 27 August 2026, police commenced an investigation following reports of a break and enter and vehicle theft in Parkes.

Police were told between 5pm on Wednesday 26 August 2026 and 5.40am the next day, a rural property on Corcoran Road, Parkes, was broken into and a white utility was stolen.

A crime scene was established and officers attached to Central West Police District, along with Rural Crime Prevention Team, have commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Ferront.

Following inquiries, about 5.30pm on Friday 28 August 2026, detectives arrested a 20-year-old woman and seized a mobile phone at a home on McGregor Street, Condobolin.

She was taken to Condobolin Police Station where she was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, passenger not disclose driver’s/other passenger’s identity.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Condobolin Local Court on Thursday 15 October 2026.

About 7pm the same day, police located the utility in bushland near Springvale Road, north west of Condobolin. The vehicle was seized to be forensically examined.

Following further inquiries, about 7.30pm on Friday 4 September 2026, police arrested a 19-year-old man near Lachlan River, Condobolin.

He taken to Parkes Police Station where he was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, possess prohibited drug, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, passenger not disclose driver’s/other passenger’s identity, possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs. He was further charged with an outstanding warrant.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 on Saturday 5 September 2026, where he was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 17 September 2026.

Following further inquiries, about 7.30am on Tuesday 8 September 2026, officers attached to Rural Crime Prevention team and Central West Police District attended a home on Thornsbury Street, Parkes.

When police entered the premises, a man allegedly left the scene on foot.

Following a foot pursuit, a 32-year-old man was arrested nearby. He was subsequently searched and police allegedly located and seized a small amount of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

A search warrant was executed at the same location and police allegedly located and seized an amount of cannabis and electronic devices.

The 32-year-old man was taken to Parkes Police Station where he was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug. He was further charged with an outstanding warrant.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 on Wednesday 9 September 2026, where he was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 24 September 2026.
