Police charge woman over murder at Kendall

A woman has been charged over her alleged role in murder of a man in the state’s north.

About 6.40pm on Wednesday 22 November 2023, emergency services responded to reports that a man had been shot at the front of a home along Batar Creek Road, Kendall.

Members of the public commenced CPR prior to the arrival of paramedics, however the 43-year-old man died at the scene.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Holmesleigh with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

A 27-year-old woman and two men, aged 37 and 39, have previously been charged and remain before the court.

Following further inquiries, a 53-year-old woman was arrested in Murray St, Port Macquarie, about 9:35am on Monday (27 November 2023).

She was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station, where she was charged with hinder investigation serious indictable offence and conceal serious indictable offence.

The woman was refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 28 November 2023), where she was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 13 December 2023.

Investigations under Strike Force Holmesleigh are continuing.
