Police continue to search the Wonnangatta area today in the hope of finding Russell Hill and Carol Clay.
The search will expand from Dry River Creek Track at Billabong (Wonnangatta Valley), where Russell’s car was located on 27 March.
Local police, Police Air Wing and Search and Rescue are being assisted by SES, Parks Victoria and the Mounted Cattleman’s Association of Victoria.
Russell left his Drouin home on a touring trip on 19 March and planned to visit various campsites along the Dargo River with his route exiting the region at Dargo on 26 March.
He was making regular check-ins to friends via radio daily between 6 – 6.30pm.
Russell worked in the logging industry for some time and is familiar with the area.
The 74-year-old was last heard from on 20 March via HF radio where he advised he was having radio transmission issues.
Russell was confirmed to be at Wonnangatta Station in the Victorian Alps when he made the call.
Carol, aged 73-years, told friends she was heading away and was expecting to return home on 28 or 29 March.
Police have since located her car at an address in Pakenham and believe Carol is in the company of Russell as her belongings were found in his parked vehicle.
Investigators have released images of Russell and Carol in the hope someone may have seen them and can provide information regarding their whereabouts.
It is not known what either of them are wearing and it is out of character for Russell not to make contact via the radio.
Police hold concerns for the welfare of Russell and Carol due to the amount of time they have been missing and Russell suffers from medical conditions.
