Police Dog Judge pounces at West Richmond, South Australia

Police Dog Judge caught a man red-handed inside a vehicle at West Richmond last night.

Police were called about 10.45pm on Thursday 24 March by a resident reporting a man on a bicycle acting suspiciously and trying car door handles along Passmore Street, West Richmond.

PolAir was immediately overhead and tracked the man on the bike, allegedly observing him test more car doors in the back streets of West Richmond.

Patrols cordoned off the area while Police Dog Judge and his handler snuck up on the suspect.

When he successfully entered a car in Devon Street and allegedly stole a wallet, PD Judge and handler pounced.

The 28-year-old man from Glengowrie was arrested and charged with illegal interference and theft. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police remind the public to always lock their vehicles and remove any valuables to prevent opportunistic theft such as this.
