Police dog stabbed in Gordon Park, QLD

Police have charged two men after a police dog was stabbed in Gordon Park overnight.

It will be alleged around 1.30am police were called to Victoria Terrace after a suspect vehicle was observed in the area. When police arrived two men fled from the vehicle and police arrested three other people at the scene.

A police dog and handler were deployed to track the men and located the pair about fifteen minutes later in Burnaby Terrace. During the apprehension of the men the police dog received a large stab wound to the chest.

The police dog handler rendered first aid before Police Dog Kaos was transported to a veterinary surgery where he was operated on and is currently in a stable condition.

A 21-year-old Milton man and a 24-year-old Enoggera man have both been charged with one count each of serious animal cruelty, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, serious assault police and obstruct police.

They were both denied bail and are expected to appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Monday, February 3.

A 25-year-old Logan Village woman, 22-year-old Wynnum man, and 29-year-old Manly West woman have all been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. All three are expected at appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on February 17.

Police Dog Kaos is a 7-year-old general purpose Police Dog assigned to the Brisbane Region.
