Police are investigating following a fatal unit fire in Sydney’s Inner West this evening.
About 6.10pm (Friday 17 September 2021), emergency services were called to a unit block at St Georges Crescent, Drummoyne, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and located a body inside a unit.
Officers from Burwood Police Area Command established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information about the fire to come forward.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
