Police investigate armed robbery at Southport

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a woman at Southport last night.

At 8.45pm, the woman was parking her car in a hospital car park when a man approached her window.

He produced a knife, told the woman to get out and stole her Subaru. He then drove through a boom gate onto Hospital Boulevard, in the direction of Olsen Avenue.

The man is described as in his late 20s, approximately 180cm tall, with an athletic build and short sandy hair. He was last seen wearing a black top and long black shorts.

The 49-year-old woman was not physically injured during the incident.
