Police investigate armed robbery at Springfield 10 September

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a licensed premises at Springfield overnight.

At 11.30pm last night (September 9) three men attended the Springfield Parkway business in a stolen silver Toyota Camry.

Two of the men then entered the premises, one producing a firearm and threatening staff while the other jumped the counter armed with a crowbar.

The man with the crowbar forced entry to the tills and removed a sum of cash while his accomplice continued to threaten staff and demand money.

The pair then fled to the waiting vehicle outside.

The man with the firearm is described as around 185cm tall with a solid build and was wearing a grey hooded jumper, a shirt covering his face, light coloured gloves and black shoes. It is believed he spoke with a New Zealand type accent.

The second man is described as 185cm tall with a slim build and was wearing dark jeans with rips, a dark coloured balaclava, dark hooded jumper with dark gloves and white shoes.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity at the time of the offence or have further information is urged to come forward.
