Police investigate armed robbery at Sunnybank Hills 6 November

Police are appealing for public information following an early morning armed robbery in Sunnybank Hills.

Around 5am today (November 6), a staff member from a tavern on Hellawell Rd was forced from his vehicle, parked in the car park, by a man armed with a firearm, believed to be a replica pistol.

The 37-year-old was told to re-open the tavern.

Once inside, the attendant was then forced to open the safe.

He sustained minor injuries.

The man escaped with a sum of cash and was last seen on foot heading towards Beenleigh Road.

The man is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall, between 30 and 40 years old and was wearing dark clothing with white shoes and white gloves.

He was also carrying a duffel bag.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have further information to contact them.

In particular, anyone who may have been driving along Jackson Road around 5pm who may possibly have seen something.

Anyone with dashcam or who can provide further assistance is urged to come forward.
