Police investigate Coburg affray

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following an affray in which two teens were injured on Wednesday evening.

Investigators have been told the two male teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were walking along Rennie Street when they were approached from behind by another group of teens near Irrelach Lane about 9.30pm on 12 February.

It is believed the group of five or six male teens attacked the pair before fleeing the scene.

The 18-year-old Reservoir man sustained a slash wound after being assaulted with an edged weapon.

The 17-year-old Preston boy received head injuries and significant bruising to his face.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the group, or who may have dash cam footage of the group in the area to come forward.

Five of the offenders were perceived to be of Mediterranean appearance and one Caucasian.

Most of the group were believed to be wearing black ‘Nike’ clothing.
