Police investigate collision at Aspendale

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a collision in Aspendale that has left a woman with life-threatening injuries today.

It is believed a grey Holden Commodore sedan was making a right-hand turn from Wells Road onto Gilchrist Way when the collision occurred with a green Mitsubishi sedan travelling north on Wells Road just after midday.

A 95-year-old Chelsea woman who was the passenger in the Mitsubishi was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two other Chelsea women, aged 55 and 25, in the Mitsubishi both received non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

The driver of the Commodore, a 54-year-old Dandenong man was arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the collision.
